The
Excitement of Adventure Travel
What can be more exciting than adventure travel? Participating
in adventure travel is special and allows you to experience
life to its fullest. When was the last time you did this?
Probably back when you were young. However, there is no better
time than now to experience everything that life has to offer.
Adventure travel can cover a whole range of great vacations
and they don’t have to include risky stunts that are
dangerous. Sure, maybe bungee jumping off a cliff is not for
everyone, however, every adventure tour has a different comfort
level. An adventure tour can include many types of vacation
trips that are exciting and that are a little out of the normal.
Some adventure tours include traveling down the Amazon river
or visiting mountain villages and experiencing the way of
life of the local population. Or combining an eco-adventure
trip with treetop tours in Costa Rica.
Rincon de la Vieja is one of Costa Rica’s many beautiful
national parks. There you will find breathtaking nature and
an adventure you simply can’t find at home. Rincon is
about 25 mile north of Liberia, located in northern Costa
Rica with a major airport served by major airlines daily from
North America. The park has miles of hiking trails and an
active volcano and tours on the treetops of the rainforest.
How does a treetop tour work? Guests are outfitted with a
rock climbing harness and heavy leather gloves and transported
to the rainforest. From there groups are taken up to a platform
built into the top of a tall tree. From there, you can see
that there is a network of platforms running through the rainforest’s
canopy.
After a serious safety lecture, your guide hooks your safety
line to the steel cable running to the next platform and then
you’re off, flying through the air in the middle of
a rainforest. When you arrive at the platform a guide will
assist you to travel to the next platform.
The canopy tours are a very exciting and safe adventure that
gives you a whole new feeling for the rainforest. As you move
from platform to platform, (there are 10 at Rincon), the guides
will deliver an informative lecture on the rainforest including
the research into medicinal plants that are being discovered
in the jungle. They say they have never had an accident in
over 10 years and their oldest tour adventurer was an 87-year
old woman.
If you’re looking for a good dose of excitement and
don’t have an inordinate fear of heights, and are in
reasonable physical condition, a canopy tour in Costa Rica
is a safe choice.
